Man, the frequency with which professional journos and pundits toss around "sundowning" is, at best, dispiriting, but mainly gross.

It is unbelievably awful. I have not seen a single one doing this have a ballpark accurate understanding of what sundowning even is.
People have just conflated their vague awareness that in some people with dementia they experience something called "sundowning" where symptoms get worse at night with the idea that dementia symptoms can be discontinuous to falsely believe that dementia just generally gets worse at night.
That's bad enough as it is. But what makes it insufferable is people then share their understanding they derived through a what amounts to rumors like they're personally running a CEAD or something. And then you often see some nastiness added on top.
