I second this, but will add that her and Matt have friends in the right places. I was at a dinner with Thomas Frank years ago where he was talking about them as the IT couple of the Atlantic Dinner Party crowd. Having friends in high up places does a lot to insulate you from consequences.
The brilliance of Liz Bruenig isn't in her writing but the fact that if you ever try to explain her very obvious agenda someone will be ready and willing to tell you it is in fact you and not her who are deranged
Yeah as a part native Kansan, I have mixed feelings about him, but he was a much better dinner guest than Oliver Stone (I met both because they gave talks at UC Riverside and my doctoral advisor was the one shepherding the talks).
