I find Indonesians' obsession towards shopping malls weird. Yes, you can shop and hangout at an Aircon place. But you know what's better? Just chill and hangout at parks where you don't even need to spend money to relax
The lack of green and public places in Indonesia have brainwashed people into defending shopping malls developers
"But the malls will bring jobs and earnings from tax!" Which tax honestly? Sales assistants salaries in Indonesia are so low it's not even taxable
The trouble is more parks are needed, and they need to be kept clean. The ones which were close to my house in Jakarta South were few and grotty. Bandung has nice parks tho.
That's just sad, and I agree about the lack of personnel to maintain the public parks. Most probably because the government doesn't put much budget into keeping public spaces pleasant, and there aren't that many of them to begin with 😮💨
