Jesus. I didn't realize that the Texas pardon board waived its own requirements in order to give Abbott his pardon of Daniel Perry. Also, if there is another example of a Texas governor pardoning someone for murder, I haven't been able to find it.

Usually Texas governors send people to Death Row. Pardoning a murderer is entirely out of character.

That's because Daniel murdered someone that the governor is happy killing. Had to make sure people knew that some people are legal to murder.

During the days of Bleeding Kansas there were pro-slavery judges who would let border ruffians who murdered abolitionists out on bail knowing full well they would disappear.
