We have Lego build days at the pub on public holidays. Allowing for beer, I reckon one can assemble 200 pieces per hour.
The bigger sets are out of range; and sets for grownups are already available on AliExpress
It also doesn’t come at a price normal people can pay. I’m a LEGO fan, but I’ve stopped paying attention to the sets because I can’t buy them. I can’t justify ANY money on that kind of hobby.
That’s fair. And you do get to see what you pay for when buying Lego; the quality of the moulding, the building guides and so on are good enough but nowhere near as good.
But Lego is never going to offer me a minifig of Gebhard von Blücher; or a Soyuz/R7 rocket; or an F-14
