There are only two possible explanations for the abortion / EMTALA / Idaho case: 1) The conservatives on the Supreme Court are incompetent: they used an extraordinary procedure then, months later, said "oops" and withdrew it. 2) They're not incompetent; they're partisan hacks.
This week, the Supreme Court just as dramatically swooped back out. It said it was wrong to have intervened—that the appeal was “dismissed as improvidently granted”—and restored the status quo, with the case back in the lower courts and enforcement of the law stopped preliminarily by them.

This decision is a short term victory in that mifepristone will continue to remain available in the U.S. for abortion and miscarriage management for now. However, this is far from the end of the right’s attempts to strip us of our reproductive rights.
Today the Supreme Court dismissed Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA due to a lack of standing. But let’s be clear: This should have never made it past the shredder. 1/

Since right-wing extremists stole the Supreme Court, we've known that it no longer represents the will of the American people. Even still, it's pretty astounding just how quickly and effectively SCOTUS has helped the far-right achieve its goals.
