This account from Twitter, which I've never heard of, apparently just joined BlueSky and I saw a callout post that this is a TERF and the replies were like "damn was following for years never knew so sad" and... are you shitting me? This is the most second wave shit I've seen. How did you not guess?
it's a browser addon that highlights transphobic social media accounts in red (and "safe" ones in green). It's not always accurate but it's helpful at a glance. and yes it's a Death Note reference
ive always wondered what this extension was called. Been on Trans twitter for 7 years and this is prolly the first time I've ever seen it named. Though very familiar with it from screenshots.
I mean the second wave was a big place and a lot of us feel connections with various of aspects of its aesthetics and activism for a lot of different reasons? Like yeah on the Internet liking the vibe of second-wave art is a warning sign to be on the alert but it's hardly proof-of-TERFitude.
(Other compelling evidence-of-TERFitude seems to be available in this case, though I haven't been following closely, but I don't see why failing to have figured that out based solely on the retro vibes is supposed to be a major epistemic failing.)
