The heck? Both Esquire and the NYT have put out "best books" lists, and THE FIFTH SEASON is on both! Is there a holiday coming up or something? Anyway, yay! Esquire's is SFF-specific (#4) and the NYT's is this-century specific (#44). www.esquire.com/entertainmen... www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Our evening walk with Ella along the Hudson was a good time. Pretty sailboats escaped the heat. We stopped twice to give Ella water, which she lapped up with gusto. She met new doggy friends. On the way back, a light rain cooled us off, just right. 😊🐶❤️

Ella barked at some noise out in the apt. hallway while she had her football in her mouth. A muffled warning. 🙄🐶🩷

He is beautiful. But he’s doing some utterly exquisite acting combined with movement, alluring and so dark.
Qimir really is one of the better villains Star Wars has had, live action at least Most of that is Manny Jacinto looking incredible and having his natural charisma but it's also having a Sith that behaves like a normal fuckin person and actually explains his motivations in a way that is tempting!

Still thinking of Dark Matter. A terrific sci-fi story because of how it illuminates the human. Makes you think a lot about how you are shaped by your choices, experiences and relationships.

Finished Dark Matter on Apple plus, super interesting, good human story, lots of Chicago, including Regenstein Library, my old stomping grounds. I definitely like sci-fi over fantasy.

Ella and I walked along the Hudson early this morning. No crowds, no colorful explosions, just gentle waves and a cool breeze. A lady duck quacked, calling her mate. Ella rudely barked her away. 🐶🩷

Not in the mood. Not until the November election, then we celebrate. #VoteBlue2024ProtectDemocracy

Looking forward to celebrating our new Independence Day when this country spits Trump out for good and the erroneous SCOTUS immunity decision is overturned and our democracy is back on track.

We should make the "this is fine" meme our new national flag.

Instead of setting off loud fireworks, Ella recommends staying home and reading a good book quietly for July 4th. 🐶🩷 📚☕️

Ella ran into her BFF Chloe with little sister Charlotte, who says hi with one ear. 😊🐶🩷

Remember Hillary’s “massive far right conspiracy“? Oh boy was she right.

President Biden, offered unlimited power, rejected it. Like Galadriel, he passed the test, though unlike her, doesn’t look like he was even tempted.

Feels unmoored to have the rule of law shattered by SCOTUS.

Ella ran around like a maniac with another dog and was too tired to leave. I let her rest as I enjoyed the cool morning. 😊🐶🩷

So glad Biden is President. How extraordinary that he was suddenly given unlimited power but he declined because he is ethical and responsible. What a good man. #RidinWithBiden2024

It makes sense if you realize the right-wing Fed Society justices would welcome a theocratic autocracy, with them as aristocrats. Democracy means having to take criticism from the rabble, and this makes them angry. Plus they watch too much Fox and are MAGA-fied.

Can a Prez still be impeached when there are no more “high crimes and misdemeanors” that apply to the office? I better read the decision, so many questions.

Good morning to everyone except the new corporate overlords dismantling the regulatory state.

Pundits forget how utterly repulsive Trump is to regular non-cult people. 90 minutes of that garbage is hard to take.
