If you slide your thumb across the space bar on your phone it will move the cursor back and forth, making it easier to put the cursor where you want.

For me at least, you have to hold, not swipe. Which is fine.

Works for both Android and iOS as far as I know. For iOS, you need to hold your finger on the space bar for a second or two to activate it and then you can move your finger around the keyboard to move the cursor.

It appears that on Phone, the hold works without swiping. Dripping on the space bar doesn’t work. The hood technique is fine. Just wasn’t sure if there was another way.

SwiftKey saves lives with optional arrow keys, I tell you what (yes, I've made it huge and green so my hams can hit)

SwiftKey autocorrect drives me insane but it's worth it for the arrows

What about the “hold down” the space bar to move the cursor trick? Also the little white bar at the bottom of the screen lets you cycle through apps.

And when you need to type some punctuation, don’t tap the 123 key. Hold your finger on it, drag it across the screen, and release it on the comma, or whatever. The regular ABC keyboard will reappear immediately without you having to hit the key.

The opposite also works — to type a single letter without leaving the punctuation keyboard, which is useful when building grep searches to cheat at Wordle.

I’m on iPhone.

Very bottom of the screen there should be a white bar anytime you have an app open. Swipe R/L on it to switch between all the apps you have open.

I actually didn’t know this. I always bump my active app up to where they all fan like a deck of cards and move through them that way.

Hmm. My iPhone doesn’t have that, but I still have the pretend Home button, which I double click to switch apps. I bet this feature is for the newer iPhones without the button.

😯OMG! This changes my text input experience a lot. I was always dragging/clicking the cursor inside the text ... but this is so much easier!
