gf just showed me the thing where you can easily move the text cursor by swiping r-l on the phone keyboard space bar and I am so gd mad rn
WHAT ELSE HAVE YOU PEOPLE BEEN KEEPING FROM ME
lots of things. Aliens are real, but they're actually pretty stupid. Stonehenge was a sex thing. JFK was assassinated by Mildred Johansson of Cloud Lake, Minnesota after an escalating series of dares with her best friend, Doris Mulberry. The pyramids? Also a sex thing. DB Cooper was a ghost
Works for both Android and iOS as far as I know.
For iOS, you need to hold your finger on the space bar for a second or two to activate it and then you can move your finger around the keyboard to move the cursor.
It appears that on Phone, the hold works without swiping. Dripping on the space bar doesn’t work.
The hood technique is fine. Just wasn’t sure if there was another way.
And when you need to type some punctuation, don’t tap the 123 key. Hold your finger on it, drag it across the screen, and release it on the comma, or whatever. The regular ABC keyboard will reappear immediately without you having to hit the key.
The opposite also works — to type a single letter without leaving the punctuation keyboard, which is useful when building grep searches to cheat at Wordle.
Hmm. My iPhone doesn’t have that, but I still have the pretend Home button, which I double click to switch apps. I bet this feature is for the newer iPhones without the button.
