These machines were developed with funding assistance from public agencies like federal grants and NIH funding. The cartridges cost ~$4 to manufacture. Doctors without boarders and other non-profits have been asking these companies for years to lower the prices of these cartridges ... 2/n
... to ~$5 in order to help save lives from TB and drug resistant TB but these companies have not done so. TB kills more people every year in the most vulnerable countries than almost any other cause of death. It's entirely curable provided the right diagnostic tools and treatments
