Gonna be very hard to get back to normal. Many judges were named for life by Trump. Many states where the GOP has full power, including that to gerrymander districts, so they can make sure the Democrats can never get back to power in those states even with a large majority of voters.

On the contrary, in the US, having judges on your side is hugely important to get your politics implemented. Trump named many judges, not just in the Supreme Court, with the same ideological profile. Many of them are in place for life. (A system that is indeed pretty abhorrent)
