Public Gardens, Halifax Common, and a walk on the waterfront. Maybe the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and the Citadel if you like museums/history. People will tell you to try a donair… they’re only good when you’re drunk.
Restaurants - The Canteen, Side Hustle, and Battery Park all on the Dartmouth side, downtown. Battery Park’s nachos are wonderful. I forgot to mention go see Peggy’s Cove. On the way there there’s a lovely restaurant, Shaw’s Landing. Really good fish & chips.
It depends what you’re looking for. It’s very spiced (not spicy) ground meat formed onto a spit which rotates around a heating element. It’s shaved off, put on a pita with onions, tomatoes and a very sweet garlicy sauce. They’re good, but not as good as the hype I find.
