I always find the chorus metaphor helpful: sometimes someone in the chorus has to take a breath, so the rest of the chorus keeps singing, trusting that that will happen when they need a breath too

This way of thinking has kept me alive for years.

I find the tiniest little bits of optimism in completely absurd ways. When I feel like everything is terrible on any scale (uncontrolled pain to social problems in the US to the world is cooking). But I know that Subnautica is going to get a sequel eventually so I can hang on to that.

It feels weird that something so inconsequential is what keeps me going but that and things like it are a part of keeping on keeping on.
