senior leadership was given multiple chances to dispel this rumor today and has not done so. i’m also now disabled from downloading my emails

this might be your best bet to save your work. fortunately, archive has snapshots of vice going back to 1999
If offline mode is supported by your machine: Disconnect from Wi-Fi/internet and then log into your email. There may be a chance you can salvage something.
I learned this by accident when I was laid off last year and I was on a train, and all of a sudden all my work docs from six months ago suddenly showed up.
i just recently archived some of yr great work on wayback machine & was thinking about how cool it is that ppl still have a few places to write things — this is rly tragic & i’m so sorry 💔
