Finished Transistor. This game is good, but not great. It’s strong artistically, and you have a lot of customization options. However, the story doesn’t do enough for me, it feels a little short, and overall it’s a bit too easy (at least on the first play-through). I say give it a try.
Since Toonami Rewind is re-airing DBZ Kai, I’ve decided to do a thread comparing Kai to the original airing of DBZ (using US Dub Version 2.0). I’ll watch Kai first, then the old version. And for each set I’ll decide which version I liked better.
Watched Knuckles. While there’s some decent content here, the series is kneecapped by having its two worst episodes be Episodes 2 and 3. By the time I got to the better stuff, I was in too sour a mood to properly enjoy it.
Don’t really recommend it. Just wait for Sonic 3.
Finished Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. It was a bit of a struggle for me to finish this one, but only because I’m bad at this type of fighting game. The game has a lot of depth, which the CPUs demonstrated by combo-ing me to oblivion. If you’re into 2D fighters, this may be worth your time.
Completed Princess Peach Showtime! A princess of all trades, master of none. Any given style gets at most a half-hour of content. Good visuals and strong art directions give the experience some life, I’d give it a 6/10 (slightly above average). Rent it or buy it on sale. Not really worth $60.
Finished Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight. A fairly bite-sized metroidvania game, this one was relatively simple in power-ups and combat options, but still manages to provide a bit of challenge and creepy atmosphere. If you want a quick fix in the genre, it’s not a bad option.
Finished Dragon’s Lair Trilogy. Truly a unique part of gaming history. The original quick-time event games, with captivating Don Bluth animation. Can be tricky to figure out at times, but working out what to do is part of the fun. I’m just glad I didn’t have to keep paying quarters for lives. :P
Fully completed Splatoon 3: Side Order
Splatoon’s gameplay works well as a rougelite. The permanent upgrades, numerous weapons, and various color chips make runs feel unique.
However, the poor selection of enemies and bosses, lacking story, and no real incentive past the first clear hold it back.
Just finished all the palettes for Splatoon 3 Side Order. Did the last run without any in-game hacks. Will definitely be playing more to unlock everything in it.
Finished Freedom Planet (all 3 routes). Game is a lot of fun. Characters are all unique and well designed. Stages are expansive and engaging. Boss fights can be tough, but patterns are clear enough that you can figure them out. Would recommend checking it out, especially for fans of 2D Sonic.
Twitter’s algorithm seems determined to convince me that ViziePop is trash and The Disney Star Wars movies are cinema. I do not appreciate such propaganda. 😠
