the other day my friend was over and he looked up and saw a possum crossing the wire over my street and was like OMG POSSUM and without skipping a beat I said “oh that’s Rebecca”
And later I realized he thought I said “that’s Rebecca’s,” and thought I had a neighbor with a roaming pet possum
when in reality I just know all the neighborhood wildlife by name, and Rebecca in particular is this year’s only/only surviving? baby from my favorite local possum Susan
