I’ve probably told this one before but we saw Turnpike Troubadours at Austin City Limits just before my kid was born.
Their self titled album came out the weekend before my kid was born. I was told it was safe to go hunting, so I drove across Texas back home to Louisiana with that album on….
I was the primary care giver from the first few weeks. Every night as I swaddled the kid I’d play “Bossier City.”
Partly because I’m from Shreveport. Partly because the song slaps. But mostly because of the chorus is “what mama don’t know won’t hurt her”….
