The term “corrupt” implies an initial pristine state, but with the Supreme Court, we’re talking about an initially sullied institution further degraded. “Corrupt” doesn’t quite cover it.

I feel like corrupt can also refer to things which are initially flawed and then the flaw just grows and gets worse.
