Perfect "getting the band back together" tale.

I like that it’s not easy or uncomplicated. That Kirk stomps on his prodigy to get his ship back. That Spock has run away from his humanity and v’ger helps him accept it. And that the villain is “defeated” without a shot fired. That’s all very Star Trek to me.

I think it’s VASTLY underrated that Spock’s internal conflict — from the very beginning of the show — is resolved in this movie. The Spock we meet in Wrath of Khan knows who he is and has no struggle about his identity.
