Being Married to a Linguist for Decades™ dept. Listen for a tic that has gotten way out of control in podcasts: - Q: "So you're saying XXX XX." - A: "Exactly." It's the "exactly" that has become the tic / cliche. Listen for it and you'll hear it constantly. You're welcome!

Absolutely. For things not that precise. The "So" intro bothers me more, have to consciously fight being infected with it.

“Of course” is my current favorite ubiquitously used phrase. As in: “Have a good day.” “Of course.”

Also "correct." Which I know I do all the time and still can't stop.

Here's one by guests on every TV news network ever: "It's a sort of...." EVERY thought / opinion is prefaced with that and it drives me nuts 😂
Have media people stopped saying, "Yeah, so, I mean..." at the beginning of their sentences, or do I just not hear it anymore?
