Note to anyone who needs it today: No situation was ever made worse by treating people as human beings.

Notable exception is Russians circa 2010-2014

This exemplifies why I think the transition from having personnel departments to human resources teams was a key part of the downfall of humanity. It may only be semantics from a certain point of view but words mean things. And these words mean people are something to be used for the company.

Definitely something there, Personnel is a reminder they're people Resources says they're to be used & all value extracted from, then discarded

Somewhere I read …do unto others as you would have them do unto you…

Try telling that to half of the US population. They’d have you believe it’s what killed jesus.
Half of the US population is fucking bad shit insane. I think it’s perfectly fine to treat them as such.

Thank you! This reminds me of a scene in the Grapes of Wrath where the CCC camp leader talks about treating every human being with dignity.

True! People should be treated as humans are beings. That's humanity

Human beings do not understand that. So simple yet so hard to understand for many.

Agreed! Humanity is always the answer.

To this I'd add: while there are valid and significant exceptions, few situations are made worse by treating dogs as human beings.
This is objectively, not true the more you normalize treating pieces of shit like normal people the more power they’re going to have. For instance, if you treat Republicans like decent people they’re going to keep taking power and using it to hurt people
