When did Star Trek get so woke?? They've got a deaf person using American Sign Language on this episode!! What's that? What's that you say? This aired in 1989? Hmm...
Ok, but the universal translator can’t do ASL? But what really bummed me about that episode in a recent rewatch was when dData learns all of the sign languages in the federation and there are like a dozen iirc. There are hundreds on Earth now.
