That enclosed kitchen setup is not uncommon here (Chicago) in cheap apartments close to a college/university. The ones I've seen have all been far far newer and less likely to catch the wall on fire, though. Probably.
The bathroom is HUGE and the bedroom looks like a good size as well. The kitchen is obviously a later addition. If the stove situation wasn't so dangerous it's not a bad layout. Like, I've seen kitchens like this in studios. Having an actual bedroom?
I'm really curious about where this is located.
Also that floor is hundreds of years old. Gorgeous. The planks are so wide I wonder if it's the original flooring or if it's the underfloor - wood planks that used to be considered crap but are better quality than what we use as flooring now.
