The older folks in my life feel the same way. Say what you want about Newsome, but he is the only person out there that doesn't seem like he has PTSD from 1984. Newsome is... not great, but it's time Dems were unapologetically Dems. Hopefully more follow suit.

Newsome-AOC? Mollify the progressives, hopefully tee her up nicely for two terms & represent a Democratic Party fully past the defensive crouch most of our electeds have been in since January 1981.

I mean, sure, why not. What I really want is a 2028 (even 2024?) candidate field that is simply unapologetically liberal, when confronted doesn't back down, doesn't continually tack right at first sign of distress, and possibly moves the Overton window away from fash.

That's exactly why I mistrust Buttigieg.
