The owner of the property where I stay in Colorado for part of the summer has a spring-fed pond. It’s stocked w trout but not farm-raised. All caught in local rivers. Just added three 16 inchers from roaring fork.

I went fishing with veterans and their kids yesterday

Today is National Women’s Fly Fishing Day, a celebration dedicated to honoring and promoting female fly fishers! Which means I need to finish my work asap so I can get out on the river!

We call this the Beyonce Fly. Is very sparkly.

This weekend we took some women veterans out for a day of bonding and fishing. While I was talking some horses came by, sent Lady Bird into a tizzy. Her fishing life vest has a safety handle for scooping her out of the river, which came in handy.

I spent the weekend working with women veteran and Project Healing Waters leaders planning our year for our new Women on the Fly initiative. One of our vets makes amazing stickers for water bottles/coolers etc. These are my two favorites.

I know! She was about 4-5 lbs when we picked her up April 2023. She’s about 16 now!

And Birdie doesn’t like the property owner AT ALL. Hates him.

It’s hard to be mad in the mountains (even if I haven’t been able to enjoy them yet bc of work, they still make me happy)

I try not to pay much attention to the lawyer kudos media, but this feels worth a skeet—I’m so proud to be a part of the GTLaw appellate group. Our Austin appellate team is Chambers ranked with four of us receiving individual rankings. It’s an honor to work with these amazing appellate lawyers.

Birdie rolled in fresh coyote poop right outside the back door this morning. Guess which one of us is very pleased with herself and which one of us is totally freaked and grossed out.

I had Dolly Parton pancakes this weekend. They were amazing. If that’s “woke” sign me up.

The property has a gorgeous spring-fed pond stocked with trout caught from local rivers. You can some chonker fish from high above.
