No, I don’t think Jamelle Bouie has a responsibility to quit writing for the NYT. Yes, I do think it’s fair to criticize him for writing about trans issues for the NYT without directly confronting the paper’s frankly bloodthirsty coverage of trans issues.

No, I don’t think driving Bouie off the site accomplished anything constructive. By the same token, no, I don’t think shitting on scared trans women who got mad at Bouie is accomplishing anything constructive either.

It's so weird that they don't have the basic savvy to realize most people don't want to live in constant drama and conflict. The vast majority of people - and I mean *vast* - barely think about their political opponents at all. They just want to get to the next day off in one piece.

I think part of it is that the MAGA types aren't reacting with shock and horror, they're reacting with *glee* because this just says "looks like political violence is back on the menu, boys!" to them.
