As we head deeper into the political season, I want to remind folks that using the terms like moron, idiot, imbecile, insane, lunatic, etc is just as offensive as using "cripple" as an insult.
These were bogus pseudo-medical terms used to institutionalize, imprison, and degrade people that society found distasteful, and were weaponized with an especially racist and eugenicist bent.
But even moreso...to suggest that willful ignorance, bombastic behavior, selfishness, self-aggrandizing, crime, craveness, and cruelty are common traits of disabled people is REALLY fucking offensive! 😄
