My local library growing up in the late ’90s-early ’00s, in a small city in Texas, had a great selection of very diverse YA books, including queer books. I visited a few weeks ago and found basically that entire collection gone. I understand why they did it, but it still breaks my heart.

Their digital collection is still fantastic; I’m guessing they think they can slide under the radar if angry book-banners can’t walk into the library and find those books on the shelves. It’s just that a lot of impoverished kids in the area have no digital access. I certainly didn’t.
