#RNDitem No. 14 - BOME Selected Works 1983-2009. Exhibition catalog for his 2009/2010 "Psyche" solo exhibitions at Takashi Murakami's Kaikai Kiki Gallery locations in Tokyo and Taipei. This would have been very interesting to have seen in person.

I liked the Mon-Sieur BOME line in the 00's. Great value & functional blister-pack packaging of bishojou sculpts that weren't *totally* embarrassing. We didn't know how good we had it at the time!

They're still some of my favorite figures, a great combination of quality and value that's been rare to find ever since. I wonder how much of that is due to increasing wages in China and how much is due to the companies realizing how much otaku were really willing to pay for quality prebuilt figs.

I think that's what GSC and Furyu wanted to do with their Pop Up Parade and TENITOL lines respectively, but they're still more expensive than what we had in the past. And 100%, companies have raised their prices because they know fans will pay for it.

I’ve definitely bought moderoid kits because the licenses are so esoteric, but in my defense I waited for a sale.

I try to wait for sales, but for some moderoids I'll just preorder them because I know they won't last, like the Garland from Megazone 23 that started presale today...

I got lucky and was able to get Madox, both Zerorymers, and the freaky Patlabor 1 kits at some nice steep discounts. That said I feel bad for anyone who wanted the Braiger kit.

I still wish I had bought the Noriko Takaya and Misty May figures from that Mon-sieur Bome collection :c

I have both as well as the Nono-Riri. I also had one of his bunnygirl OCs, but donated that to my college anime club's 30th anniversary party auction a couple years ago after deciding I didn't like it quite enough to justify the space.
