Powerful reminder how much of politics comes down to elites solving (or not solving) the coordination problem. France, Iran, UK (Starmer purging Labour). Very different situation but US Democrats also facing big coordination problem. And we got Trump because 2016 R's did not solve theirs. #polisky

Russia has destroyed over 50% of Ukraine's power generation capacity, FT reports.  Russian attacks on Ukrainian power plants aren't new, but, the EU ambassador to Kyiv said that the most recent strikes have hit hydroelectric and thermal power plants, which are harder to fix.

Really important thread from one of the civ-mil experts I learn the most from: politicization can occur from the actions/context shaped by civilians, not just by the choices of the military. @eclipticevader.bsky.social
Throughout this election year, addressing the challenge of military 'politicization' means an honest appraisal of the causes and consequences of politicization. This also means admitting that not every solution is the military's to control. Civilian leaders and the public matter too!

It's highly irritating to me that the US seems to use a veto against this use of Western equipment. Europe is starting to lead (France, Sweden, UK, etc...) and Washington does not (yet) seem to appreciate what it supposedly wanted to see happen. Hm.
