There's a lot of bad ideas in Project 2025, but it's interesting to see what they suggest for census, which is to combine all of the major statistical bureaus (Census, BLS, etc) into one agency. I worry about their political direction of this, but as an organizational matter seems ... not terrible?
I don't see them making this explicit comparison, but it sounds sort of how I understand Statistics Canada to work? In practice, though, the Census Bureau already fields surveys for bureaus based in other agencies (the Ed dept, for instance)
