this is like the people that said Y2K must have been made up and not a big deal as nothing happened. Thousands of hard working people cooperated and made it not a big deal. That was Peter's entire job in Office Space and he hated it!

Add to this list the 2008-09 swine flu pandemic. That was a situation that could have quite easily become worse than it was, and killed far more people than COVID. But we managed to head it off, and people questioned why we panicked about it at the time (I was one of those idiots, unfortunately).
