This was around when I followed you, back in the old place. I remember not being surprised learning this about him. Never really liked him at Wesleyan. Got to know him a little bit when I worked on a literary magazine and published a couple of his poems.

My understanding is that he was never someone who treated people kindly. But i didnt know him.

Yeah, that tracks. I’m such a killjoy at work when kids tell me that that’s their favorite book series. Or, you know, the other one.

No, I’m teaching pre-k and k/1, and telling stories at a synagogue. I did do a stint selling books and toys when my kids were little, but it turned out that my favorite part of that job was leading story time.

I feel like his response is one of many where I just kinda wonder if people are THAT upset with you, to the point where you can't brush it off as someone being "uptight" or whatever, why is it phrased like "hmm, I SUPPOSE I'll listen". Like being confronted like that would shock the hell outta me.
