I’m actually concerned that Ptown is going to be an ex-gay retreat before too long. It doesn’t feel the same as it did ten years ago or even pre-Covid. And it’s cheaper to go PV for most folx traveling in from out of state..

Ptown has never been great for diversity for lots of reasons, not the least of which is that it’s on the tip of Cape Cod, but now it’s getting older and straighter. If they want to keep Ptown gay, they need to make it more affordable and build more housing and hotels.

My only contribution to the Ptown Cowboys discourse is that Provincetown is going through the same cycle as gayborhoods across the country where gays make somewhere cool and then get priced out.

It’s true that the Supreme Court has completely rewritten the constitution and put in place the makings of a right wing dictatorship. We’re going to have to fix that before a Republican gets elected again. Step one is beat Trump. Step two is get to work on that…somehow.

My best political idea is for Democrats to run on a set of 5+ constitutional amendments guaranteeing: 1) Abortion rights and healthcare self-determination 2) Voting rights 3) Presidents subject to criminal law 4) Equal rights based on gender and sexual identity 5) A healthy environment

I don’t have anything personal against the menswear guy but I despise the rules-based men’s dress code that he’s leveraged into a career and the stultifying effect that it has on men and boys, discouraging them from cultivating personal beauty or engaging in actual fashion.
