I went to start a second process study and I now realize that using the same image is unfair because I'm just fixing all the notes I had for the first version so ofc this one's gonna come out better. Also I did enjoy the value/shadow blocking more but you won't see that bc bottom text ;w;

process study. I work very slowly on full pieces so I did a test on a smaller subject matter while recording how long each step took and what issues I ran into. I think that part of my problem is how non solidified my process is.

Little study on blocking. I feel like my sketching and ability to capture shapes and forms in the early stages could use a lot of improvement

There's lots more to improve but I don't wanna make a habit of getting too hung up on one piece so I'll call it done I think unless I go back on that which there is a non zero percent chance of happening but if it does, we ball. Okay so to be clear we are destroying power grids, the livelihoods of actual humans beings, and communication/research infrastructure for the sake of an algorithm that converts stolen data into unreliable stolen data and consistently loses millions of dollars. Just to be clear

The metal studies have been *very* interesting. I've been trying to figure out the finer details of how highlights and shadows interact with metallic surfaces so I can simulate it in my brain for when I don't have ref. My head's spinning a little bit but I do feel like we made good progress <|:]

I wasn't able to finish up this study before hitting the time limit but that's still valuable info. I work very slowly and should seek to improve in this way. I'm not sure if I should go the route of "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" and let it come with time or try to train specifically for speed

I 𝘸𝘢𝘴 going to keep my study to 1 hr but I felt like I didn't have enough time to really sink my proboscis into the piece and suck the value and understanding out of it, so I spent all day on it instead. These studies have me pinballing between art styles like a pig nosed turtle between lovers

Yes helo I am post another 1 hr study. Right now, I'm focusing on the value/light and shadow blocking phase and finding a process that flows naturally into painting. So far, my lizard brain has yet to grasp
