I design stuff for 3D printing. Queer weirdo, they/them, 30s. Most of my designs can be found here: https://www.printables.com/@lytta

I try to only repost image posts that have alt text/image descriptions.

Absinthe the Green Fairy Crown is finished. The crown is adjustable to fit on the prop, or on me should I take the notion to wear it. Uranium glass, vintage & modern crystal, ghost pearls (natural glow in the dark stone), with an electroplated spray of Wormwood leaves.

As the saying goes, “if you don’t schedule a break, your body will take one for you.”
Bonus: my favorite burnout infographic to go with it. Source: x.com/lizandmollie...

Once the renovations end for the day I'm going to test print a couple versions of a tiny parfait glass

A few more treasures from the museum today!! I can’t even tell you how many photos I took. It’s frankly ridiculous.

Free to download and Public Domain: an old key that you can 3D print, based on a real 15th century key: www.printables.com/model/923635... Old keys are just really neat, and now this model is out there for people to do whatever the heck they want with it. ✌🏻#3dprinting 🧶🏺

here's some shots of them drying. one sibling really likes silver while the other really likes darker bronze, i tried to convey they're different beings in other ways too. there's a necklace i took off for the wash with a labgrown crystal geode & rhinestones, bubbly beads, and glass beads
the new big 2 headed dragon plushie is now done, just washed it and it's drying on the table. i'll get a photo in a lil bit after it stops looking so much like a drowned animal lol

Remember how I posted some top-notch weird little guys yesterday? Well we went to the Museo Nacional de Antropología & saw some way more ancient ones! Humanity loves a tiny funky pal!

etsy and ebay are now some of my favorite places to look for reference photos and design inspiration. there's a bajillion photos of antiques, and ebay especially is not somewhere AI images can get much of a foothold (yes I am looking at photos of parfait glasses)

The other thing I did yesterday was spend a bunch of time in OpenSCAD finally getting somewhere with making a snail/conch shell shape (one that is geometric and doesn't look blobby)

I don't think I ever posted the finished Octopus. Here he is in all of his glory.

Today's beasts are a pair of dangling inchworm earrings! I have a big fondness for inchworms, and I'm so pleased with how these came out. I'll have more catapillar jewelery for Pretty Heroes and Canfur. If you'd like a beast, please check out bittythingsandbeasts.etsy.com

Having confirmed my crystal bowl model also makes a great #miniature crystal bowl, I may now have to also make a tiny 'crystal' parfait glass + What should I put in this? 🤔 (FDM printed with PETG, this model scaled down: www.printables.com/model/543897...) #3dprinting 🧶

I tried to make a tiny vase mode water snail but it mostly looks like a poop or whipped cream snail #3dprinting

The seaweed chandelier is done and lit. time to crate it up. I made this by hand from brass for a glass blower who made the pods. It sure took a while to get all the parts in place and I can't say I'll miss it taking up every inch of bench space for the past few months.

An old design that has been thoroughly use-tested but that I came back and improved aesthetically: this garlic-shaped garlic holder that prints in vase mode with a large nozzle. It can hold so much garlic. #3dprint #3dprinting 🧶 CC BY license (free) www.printables.com/model/923640...

I need something fun...I'm looking at finally buying and trying to print one of Cinderwing's cool dragons. 👀 I didn't think I could manage a decent detailed flexi print with my first printer (Ender 3) due to retraction issues, but it should be possible on my Prusa Mini

Today is a holiday called #ThingThursday and I'd like to share with you this vase which exists at the intersection of two of my special interests: Ohio Valley art glass (particularly Blenko), and consumer products used as props or set dressing on Star Trek.

Not a Teletubby. These “Bubbly Chubbies” figures were sold by Wal-mart in, well, whenever Teletubbies were the latest thing. The batteries are dead, so I can’t show you the full effect of the demonic red light-up eyes. #ThingThursday

This isn't exactly a super exciting #ThingThursday but let me start small: an old "Merry Bob Ross" mints tin I've had for about a decade, for no other reason than it makes me smile to run into it in some drawer. I don't think the "Happy Tree Shaped Green Apple Sours" are still good though. Alas.
