"Safest vehicle on the road" is maybe the greatest misunderstanding of vehicle safety I've ever seen.

Having seen the pictures of the upper control arms on the CT I 100% agree. They aren't strong enough for a tiny light car let alone a behemoth like the CT. Someone will die because of it.

A 7k lb car that doesn't crumple zones is a liability to everyone in a mile radius including the occupants.

and aren’t they missing air bags?

I don't think you can go to market without airbags

iirc they have front air bags but not side

If you make the vehicle large enough, you reach the point at which its exempt from normal rules.

That's why the CT will never be officially sold in the EU. Missing safety equipment and gross weight requiring a class C license. Also I read there are EU regulations for rounded edge requirements for all protruding parts. The sharp edged CT doesn't meet them. Outstanding planning.
