Believing in electoralism or winning every election ever while only appointing good philosopher kings as POTUS is far more unrealistic than anything a socialist is advocating.
Literally no one organizing or doing work is “busting out guillotines” but you absolutely have to see that extra-electoral tactics are needed because there is no actual path to justice via voting or the Democratic Party.
Calling for more extreme measures is the opposite of “fantasy and nihilism.” It’s an actual desire to change things and taking the correct view that it’s not possible to do by voting - and why would it? There’s a reason the system tries to convince you that voting is the only valid political action
