Wasn't her decision to cancel it illegal? Like I'm pretty sure that the money was already appropriated for it and she just decided 'nah.' unilaterally.

There are (I believe fairly strong) legal arguments that she can't stop it at this point because every act is ministerial and not up to her discretion (that might be an oversimplification), but that doesn't resolve the political issue until someone actually sues her.

Okay this is roughly what my read was on it. Yeah. This is becoming a Dem centrist tactic. Inverting the 'parliamentarian' trick and just doing shit you say you can and assuming no one will call you on it because that creates tension within the party of 'vote blue no matter who'

I'm visiting NYC now, and am just sick about what Hochul has done. The best parts of this great city are the ones with the fewest cars. "Indefinitely postponing" congestion pricing sucks for people who live in the city, and it sucks for people visiting. We all depend on walking and good transit.
