If you want to deescalate the conflict the only viable solution is to give the Palestinian people self-determination. Not limited self-rule under Israeli occupation, not a bantustan or a patchwork of enclaves, not "economic opportunity", but political emancipation.

"Expand the court" has gone from radical solution to the most exceptionally moderate option on the table.

The Supreme Court had one job (not turn the president into a king) and it... Failed.

Just a reminder in advance that the Supreme Court is illegitimate and Thomas and Alito should have been kicked out of office months if not years ago.

You ever think about how Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was a multiple season long show that somehow consistently came up with songs that were good and moved the plot forward/gave insight a character's inner life? That's really impressive.

This is a depressing thing to think about. And I'm not sure people really grasp facts like this.

It is estimated that the total scope of reconstruction of the Strip will take anywhere between 40 and 80 years depending on whether Israel reimposes its illegal blockade and the degree to which its blockade is enforced. 40 to 80 years. If the war ends today, I will be 63 years old at the youngest.

I remember sitting in law school listening to professors say SCOTUS wouldn't overrule Chevron. Well, they did. And they did it making an absolutely wild claim.

Roberts, overruling Chevron with incredible and unearned hubris: "Perhaps most fundamentally, Chevron’s presumption is misguided because agencies have no special competence in resolving statutory ambiguities. Courts do."

I think my response to the people freaking out over an old man having a bad debate performance is similar to the people saying we had lock in to the old man in November and not be critical: It's early, please chill.

I think this is the major takeaway from today. Neither case is sexy, but they both are saying a lot about how the current court wants to eliminate agency regulatory power. And they are very much destroying that power.

Today's decisions in Ohio v. EPA and SEC v. Jarkesy will likely not get the press that cases involving the major questions doctrine* might, but make no mistake, these are but smaller steps toward the significant limitation or elimination of regulatory agency power.
