thinking about how half of the point of Babbage's Difference Engine was to do calculations. and the other half of the point was to then typeset the results without anyone making a transcription error.

An interesting overview of what it takes to keep a large compiler extension up to date. Working on adding unit tests that encode Liquid Haskell's assumptions about the compiler to make it easier to find when they are broken.
