I got up early this morning and applied additional fertilizer to the weak Urushi saplings. They haven't been doing well due to the lack of rain recently. There's a forecast for rain this evening, so I'm hopeful. I want them to grow strong and healthy.

Our workshop applied urushi lacquer to a piece created by local artist Takayuki Matsumine. The piece features many small skulls painted using the maki-e technique.
