@curiousrob.bsky.social noticed your bio. Yesterday, hubster and I watched them fell a neighbor’s massive dead oak. The guide ropes, the heavy ropes, the angles, the ground holders… and the fearless one in the tree - what an art/what a rush.

Love that you're a physics teacher! I hope your school year went well and you get some good rest and book time this summer.

My only students since June 2020 (retired) have been grandkids, but they say if you can’t explain it to a child then you don’t really understand it. (Paraphrasing Einstein). But, the whole tree thing had me creating an assignment in my mind. Once a teacher…

Awesome Grandma! Wind speed and direction always affect a hazard removal. Lots of conservative "in the field" estimation helps keep people and property safe. It's such a dynamic process! (Teaching high school physical science was my first professional gig.)

Yeah - I was thinking predictive truss system with unpredictable dynamics. A fellow teacher! Then you’ll know what I mean when I say how much I miss all that teen energy - the good, the bad, and the beautiful treasures to unearth.

Totally understand! Now I'm a part time ELA/Math Interventionist at a local private school. Love working with the PreK-5th graders!

I love the physics of rigging and felling. Climbing is a fun bonus.

Physics yes, but our amygdalas are different! Weird, because I climbed fearlessly as a childhood tomboy.
