I wish we had more consumer protections around financial institutions selling your loan to another provider. My mortgage was sold 3x in 12 mo. I'm stuck with a servicer I purposefully avoided when I was initially shopping.

This episode aired in 1994 and no other joke about American politics has held up that consistently for so long.

We pulled the food off the grill and packed it all in with like 2 minutes to spare. The high winds, lightning, and heavy rain followed shortly. Dinner was excellent with MB* glaze made with our homemade smoked maple and gochujang.

MB* was lighting the charcoal grill when I got home from work today. We've got a slow cook of glazed chicken thighs with a couple of corn cobs going. And we just heard some thunder rumbles, got a severe thunderstorm warning sent to our phones, and the sky suddenly got dark fast.

Prime Day pre-effect: MB* got out of work super early today bc his parcel load was about 60% of an average Tuesday. People are holding off on orders hoping for a deal. The overload is coming. (Our town still relies on USPS for Amazon deliveries).

Family lore: I grew up in a household too frugal for paper napkins. Or paper towels. Or cloth napkins. At meal time there was a single communal dishrag on the table. The towel was never in reach when you need it. We were thus trained to call "tooowww - wwelllll" when you wanted the dishrag. (🎼D-B)

It's almost "Prime Day". If you look on your favorite shelter's website or instagram you might find that they have an amazon wishlist and that many of their items might be on sale. I hate amazon, I definitely encourage people to shop local whenever possible, but I'm just putting the info out there.

Leaving for work this morning and I noticed my flower box with the pansies had suddenly sprouted these little mushrooms! I had just watered them yesterday afternoon and they weren't there then. And they had all shriveled and died by the time I got home.

Girl math: If this air conditioner is rated for 450 sq ft and the second story is 24'x24' but I close off one of the bedrooms that's 24^2 - 12^2 and now I'm at 432 sq ft so I'm good? Doesn't feel like I'm good.

More plant posting! Our potatoes are thriving the best out of anything in the garden this year. The stalks are so heavy some of them are on the ground. We noticed potato beetles in all 3 bags last week but today we saw a kind of wasp that eats those beetles hovering around the potatoes.

I opened fb marketplace bc I had a furniture upcycling idea and wondered if anyone was selling or giving away a piece I could. Instead I found someone selling a homemade wooden car.

We restrict non-homeowners from so many basic amenities like laundry, a kitchen 2 people can cook in, a garage... Today I lived my best homeowner life by hosing caked-on kitty litter out of the litter boxes. Fantastic feeling. So clean. And I didn't have to risk clogging my bathtub drain.

Aw man the sunburn I got camping was bad enough to peel. On race day I ripped off my tee to jump in the lake and then kept it off during the awards ceremony. I had put on sunblock for the race but not my shoulders bc I had the tee shirt.
