Something I saw on Tumblr once that stuck with me was a statement poking fun at my fellow leftists, went something like:
"Leftists will talk about starting a commune but can't even be normal about children in public spaces."
It made me think about how important it is that when we design public spaces, we're not designing "Adult Spaces", we're designing PUBLIC spaces.
Public spaces should be accessible to people from every stage of life. From dawn to dusk.
Obviously that doesn't mean that we have to make everything g-rated and sanitized,
that's just not quite possible and that makes the area inaccessible to adults.
But we should always take into account how to make spaces that are safe, fulfilling, and comfortable for everyone that uses them.
