ASSASSIN'S APPRENTICE (1995)
Acrylic on Watercolor Board - 28" X 20"
Painted almost 3 decades ago, the cover for the first book of the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb remains a personal favorite. 1/3
Oh wow you're here! Do you know that I happened to pick up this book, and several others from different authors, and realized only later that the thing they had in common was that you were the cover artist. Your work captured me back then as it still does now!
I don't remember if the cover painting on my copy wrapped around the spine, but if it did I never noticed the Fool's hand off on the left. An intriguing detail; glad I've finally seen it.
(Have any of your cover paintings ever been cropped to your dissatisfaction?)
This was one of the first Fantasy Books I bought for myself all those years ago. (Finnish edition had the same art) Really loved both the book and the Art!
