Probably a #disabilitystudies paper in this MURDER, SHE WROTE episode where Jessica Fletcher is narrating a "book for the blind" in an episode with at least one blind character. (the taping is interrupted by - well, you know how the show goes.)
William Atherton's blind lead is from the old school of "I don't need help, I'm fine, I'm totally capable" disability portrayal but that's portrayed as consciously putting a positive and misleading face on a bad situation.
I'm assuming the murderer is Charlie Daniels because he's an big-name guest star who hasn't done anything important yet, but that's not always the case.
