yeah i've downloaded plenty of video game music using those crappy free websites lol. i think i started using youtube-dl (which yt-dlp forked from) about five or six years ago, but since it's command line only it was kinda obscure despite being such a powerful tool
If you do much with video and are on Windows, you might take a look at WinFF, which is a handy frontend to ffmpeg that helps, say, change file formats, shrink video file sizes down, or extract only the audio.
