Without IVF, I would not be a father. When the Southern Baptists condemn IVF, they are saying that the wish my child did not exist. The Southern Baptist church has been on the wrong side of history since its inception.

My sister had ovarian cancer and an oophorectomy in her mid-20s, and only had my niece with IVF These people want to impose life-transforming harm on families based on…nothing?

Based on their most important goal as faith: Maintaining agitation and passion in favor of Republican politics.

AWoman! My father belonged to SBC - he was a pastor, a Repug, and a pedophile. He told my Mom how to move, cook, and breathe. I knew many of them, and they were all just like my dad.

I am sorry for what you endured. Solidarity, my friend.

Jimmy Carter left it decades ago. That tells me something about them. And it's not good.

I remember reading that. There was another scandal at the time. Jimmy and Rosalynne True Hearts, knew.

Sooner or later even the normies are going to figure out that supporting our current loony tunes Republicans is more trouble than it’s worth.

I hope you are correct. The only thing I know *for certain* about the future is that it has not happened yet.

What’s absolutely wild is that my aunt and uncle who used to be Southern Baptist and are still very conservative evangelicals conceived all four of their children (two sets of twins) via IVF in the 80s and 90s. I’m not sure what they think of recent developments because I don’t talk to them much.

I'm worried for their children. Southern Baptists are very strongly associated with bullying outgroups in my mind, and I'm almost certain SBC IVF children are going to be heckled by their traditional gestation peers this Sunday.

For my cousins? They’re adults now. I did say they were conceived in the 80s and 90a

Ah I missed that part. Still, I do fear discrimination against people conceived via IVF

And what was the impetus for its selection? *Checks* Of course it was "we like slavery"

This illustrates two of my biggest gripes with most "organized" religions; 1)They work to regress the hard earned progress of the human race, especially when it comes to health and reproduction. And 2)They steal the credit of bonafide human achievement and lob it at the feet of their diety instead

Isn't their entire point that if they are reviled and on the wrong side of history it means they're doing it right? There's no fighting such an insane interpretation of faith.
