if Canada is a real country how come you don’t need to dial a country code to call someone there from the US, and you use the US country code to call Canada from the rest of the world?

Canadians like to think that, but Bell developed the telephone at his workshop in Boston. of course, Boston might be Canada, we’re not entirely sure where Canada is
He worked in both locations, actually - a rented workshop in Boston, and his own family home in Brantford - and the actual first formal telephone call was made from that same home. He also filed and received the British patent first.
